The Lake CX178 Wide is the 2026 evolution of the popular CX177, rebuilt around an all-new Sport Comfort last that opens a broader toe box and supports natural toe splay, with this Wide build adding extra forefoot and toe-box volume for wider or higher-volume feet. The stretch-resistant microfiber upper has precision-cut ventilation ports along the forefoot and midfoot for airflow, and an integrated tongue spreads pressure evenly across the foot. A single BOA L6 dial delivers fast, micro-adjustable tension and a glove-like hold, with the heel cup carried over from the trusted CX177.
Underfoot, a 60K force nylon composite sole gives efficient power transfer with controlled flex, the comfortable, walkable feel Lake's nylon soles are known for, tuned for all-day riding rather than pure race stiffness.
